Cucumber-Dill seasoning by: Lorrie Durbin I received my first order of Watkins products and included was several seasoning packets. My husband loves to snack on veggies, popcorn, and tortilla chips since he watches NASCAR racing every weekend without fail. The night before one of the races, I made him two dips from the seasonings and one cup of sour cream each. I made the Salsa dip and the Cucumber-Dill dip. During his race he tried them and told me he liked both of them. The salsa mix because it was not a messy as a cream than as tomato puree, and the cucumber-dill because he loves the flavor. (I previously caught him "sipping" the pickle brine from an empty pickle jar.) He liked the dill flavor so much, he asked me to make him a salad dressing with it. Using some mayonnaise and milk and some of the seasoning mix, I made a trial size for him. He LOVED it and declared that the cucumber-dill dressing is his new favorite and he plans to take it to put on his salads when we go out to dine. A week later, I saw him shaking a bag of popcorn. I asked why and he said he took some of the cucumber-dill seasoning and sprinkled it into his bag for dill popcorn. Although dill is not a flavor I enjoy, he loves it and finds new uses when the opportunity arises. (dill butter spread is another use he found recently.) So if you really like the flavor of dill pickles and cucumber, try our Watkins Cucumber-Dill Seasoning mix. One jar goes a long way. |
